about peter zuvela: photographer
Born in East Fremantle, Australia, Peter graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Photography from Perth TAFE in 1998. Early in his career he worked with Robert Frith of Acorn Photography. As a professional photographer he has held two solo shows, exhibited in a large number of group shows and worked as a freelance photographer-artist and teacher from the J Shed Art Studio on Bathers Beach in Fremantle WA. Peter ran the photography course at the Fremantle Art Centre for many years. At present Peter is combining his freelance photographic work with teaching photography at his studio at the J Shed Art Studio.
Peter runs weekly photo tours in Fremantle for famous Sydney photographer Alfonso Calero. He also runs tours at times in Perth teaching the basics of how to use a camera. He also runs tours teaching participants how to use smart phone technology to take good quality photos. His interests are fine art cityscape art photography. He is also very interested in history. He continues exploring his family’s Croatian heritage through the medium of photography. Peter also plays guitar and writes original music.
Peter's work has been purchased for the Town of East Fremantle art collection and had the Department for the Arts gift to Chinese visiting dignitaries. Peter is a joint winner of the Award for Excellence in Creative Industries FREMANTLE BUSINESS AWARDS 2020. He has documented the art works of many well know WA artists including Greg James (sculptor), Jina Lee (sculptor), Ann Neil (public artist), Sandra Black (porcelain artist), Jenny Dawson (Ceramic artist) and Sandra Hill (Nyoongar visual artist).
